About the Veritas

We are a brand new chapter so we don’t have a great deal of history yet. But we that will change in due time.

The name of the ship, Veritas, comes from Latin and means truth. Starfleet in-universe is an scientific and exploratory organization. Neither of those goals are possible without understanding that there are objective truths that we must seek out and understand.

As a chapter we aim to be a fun crew of Star Trek fans that come together and enjoy a community that we will build together.

Another goal of ours with our chapter being stationed by one of the largest U.S. Army bases in the world is to be flexible and work members that are Active-Duty with respect to what constitutes active membership. We understand that deployments, rotations, training, and field problems are beyond a crew members control. We welcome you to the crew and while we are primarily a local club, we accept membership regardless of you being at our physical meetings. That means if you PCS (have to move) there is no obligation for you to leave that chapter unless you find another ship at your new location and wish to be transferred. Not being local only prevents you from holding command positions with the ship (i.e. CO, XO, OIC, etc…)

RULES!!!

Welcome, officers and crew of the USS Veritas

Disclaimer: STARFLEET can’t be held responsible for anything that happens here.

Still, we want this to be a positive experience for everyone. So here are the ground rules.

Rule One – No bullying, insulting, name-calling or otherwise demeaning another member. Don’t be a jerk, basically. Not saying you guys can’t disagree, but when it gets mean, the ban-hammer comes out. (Unless it’s clearly during the official roleplay sessions.)

Rule Two – This is a family friendly chapter with a sizable cadet (under 18) population. ANY grooming activity will not only be grounds for removal, but likely referral to authorities. Cadets will only be communicated with in the established channels and not directly messaged by adults (with the exception of family members). They are designated under their own server roles and the CDT prefix.

Rule Three – Try to keep the strong language under control. It’s our job to make this as all-ages as possible. We’ll expect you guys to be on your best behavior. (You’re officers in Starfleet, Act like it!)

Rule Four – Obey the Bridge Officers. They’re your Moderators. If they tell you to ease up on something or to move your discussion to a different channel, please listen to them. Remember, we’re trying to make conversations a positive experience for everyone.

Rule Five – You must be properly identified as a member of STARFLEET, The International Star Trek Fan Association. You can be a member of the ship without being part of SFI, but you will not be eligible to vote of chapter business and will drastically limit your access to STARFLEET services as well as parts of our Discord server.

Rule Six – In respect to other members all communication should be restricted to between the hours of 0700-2300 hrs Central Time.

Rule Seven – STARFLEET is a family friendly organization so the posting of NSFW content or links to NSFW content will not be tolerated! We will actively moderate and potentially remove any language and pictures/graphics/GIFs/etc… that do not fall within the guidelines off the server or website.
